I’m Kristina Mikaelsdottir. I live between two places that seem so different yet complement each other like two heartbeats: Reykjavík and New York. Iceland gives me space, silence, wild nature and the sense that magic is simply part of life. Elves dance between rocks, the wind tells old stories, and the light changes the world with every breath. New York carries its magic differently hidden, woven into layers, shimmering just beneath the surface. But it’s there: in old brick walls, in plants pushing through the concrete, in moments full of coincidence and wonder. Nature lives here too quietly and unwavering. The streets breathe stories. I am a photographer and a collector of stories. I love the spaces in between between light and shadow, city and landscape, dream and reality. In my images, I look for the fantastical in the everyday and the honest within the magical. Welcome to my journey between moss and masonry, between northern lights and streetlamps.
